What's new

AskDolphin now lets you design the chat widget yourself: the launcher icon or your own image, its colors and label, the position and size. You also pick a light, dark or system theme, and a live preview shows every change before customers see it. It is how AskDolphin's chat widget comes to look like part of your site.

Why it matters

Customers trust a chat that looks like it belongs to the shop they are in. Matching your colors, and placing the button where it does not cover your own buttons, makes the widget feel like your site rather than a tool added on top of it.

How to use it

Open Settings, then Channels, then Live Chat widget, then Appearance, and stay on the General tab:

  • Chat button: pick one of four icons or upload your own image, set the Arrow color and Bubble color, turn on a transparent background if you like, and add a Button label of up to 32 characters.
  • Position & size: choose the Side, the Side spacing and Bottom spacing in pixels, and the Button size.
  • Colors: choose the Widget theme (System, Light or Dark), then set the primary, secondary and tertiary colors and the customer font color, separately for light and dark.
  • The Live preview beside the settings changes as you edit. Select Save when you are happy, or Restore defaults to start again.

Good to know

  • Your company name and logo come from your workspace settings, under Manage branding.
  • The Widget language setting is on the same tab.
  • The customizable chat widget is included on Free and Pro.

Can I change the AskDolphin chat button?

Yes. Pick an icon or upload your own image, set its colors and label, and choose its side, spacing and size.

Does the AskDolphin chat widget have a dark mode?

Yes. Choose a Light, Dark or System theme for the widget and set its colors for light and dark separately.
