Partner Program Terms

← Back to Partner Program

Thanks for your interest in partnering with AskDolphin. This page explains how commissions, tracking, and payouts work, so everything is clear from day one.

These terms are designed to be simple and transparent. If something is unclear, email us, and we’ll clarify it.

1. Definitions

To avoid confusion, here are the key terms we use:

“Partner” means the person or company approved to participate in the AskDolphin Partner Program.

“Referred Customer / Merchant” means a business introduced to AskDolphin through your partner code or an approved manual claim.

“Commissionable Revenue” means the net subscription revenue we receive for that customer for a billing period, excluding taxes, refunds, and chargebacks.

“Qualified Referral” means a referred customer who is on a paid subscription plan (free plans do not qualify).

“Paying Referral” (for tier upgrade) means a Qualified Referral that has at least one successful paid invoice, which is not refunded or charged back within the clearance period.

2. Commission rates

A) Base offer (Launch Partner Offer)

For each Qualified Referral:

  • Month 1: 100% of Commissionable Revenue

  • Months 2–12: 30% of Commissionable Revenue

  • Paid plans only: free plan customers do not qualify

B) Tier upgrade (Verified Partner)

Once you generate 3 Paying Referrals, you unlock:

  • 35% for Months 2–12 on NEW referrals going forward

Important notes:

  • The Verified upgrade applies only to new referrals after you unlock it

  • It is not retroactive for customers referred before the unlock date

3. When commission is earned

Commission is earned only when:

  1. The referred customer has a successful paid invoice, and

  2. That invoice is not refunded or charged back.

If an invoice fails payment, is refunded, or is charged back, it does not earn commission.

4. Payout schedule

  • Payouts are issued monthly

  • For new partners, commissions from the first 1–2 Paying Referrals are subject to a 30-day clearance period after the customer’s first successful payment (to protect against refunds/chargebacks).

  • Once cleared, those commissions are included in the next monthly payout. After that, commissions follow the standard monthly payout cycle.

5. Annual plans

If a referred customer purchases an annual subscription, we calculate commission using a monthly equivalent rather than paying the full annual commission upfront.

How it works

  1. We determine the Commissionable Revenue for the annual plan.

  2. We divide that amount by 12 to calculate the monthly equivalent.

  3. Commissions are then paid monthly based on that monthly equivalent, following the standard commission rates and payout schedule.

Why we do this

This approach:

  • Keeps payouts consistent with monthly subscriptions

  • Reduces risk in case of refunds or early cancellations

  • Ensures commissions are aligned with actual revenue received over time

If an annual subscription is refunded, canceled early, or adjusted, future commission payments may be reduced or discontinued accordingly.

6. Tracking & attribution

We attribute referrals in two ways:

A) Partner code (preferred)

Each partner receives a unique partner code / promo code. If a customer uses your code during signup or upgrade, attribution is automatic.

B) Manual merchant claim (backup)

If a customer installs without using your code, you may submit a manual claim (domain + business name). We will verify the install/account match and approve or deny the claim.

Attribution rules

  • A merchant can only be attributed to one partner

  • The first approved attribution generally wins

  • AskDolphin may override attribution in exceptional cases (with internal notes)

7. Refunds, chargebacks, and adjustments

  • Refunded or charged-back invoices do not earn commission

  • If a refund/chargeback occurs after a payout was made, we may deduct/adjust that amount from a future payout

8. Program integrity & acceptable use

To keep the program fair, we may reject referrals or remove partners who engage in behavior such as:

  • fake stores or fake signups

  • self-referrals primarily intended to generate commission

  • misleading claims about AskDolphin, pricing, or capabilities

  • coupon/deal-site style behavior or spammy promotion

We reserve the right to pause or terminate participation if we suspect fraud or abuse.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. When we do, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued participation in the program means you agree to the updated terms.
