Outlook and Microsoft 365 integration

What's new

AskDolphin's Microsoft integration connects an Outlook or Microsoft 365 work address to the shared inbox. Customer email then sits next to chat and QR conversations. AskDolphin is a Microsoft verified publisher. Here is how email works in AskDolphin.

Why it matters

Teams on Microsoft keep the Outlook address their customers already use and gain a shared inbox around it. Email arrives beside website chat and QR conversations, and the same people, notes and drafting tools handle all of them, instead of one person forwarding messages from a personal mailbox.

How to use it

• Open Integrations and find the Microsoft Outlook card: "Connect your Outlook or Microsoft 365 mailbox to manage customer emails in AskDolphin."
• Select Install Microsoft Outlook and give permission on Microsoft's own sign-in screen. No mailbox password is shared with AskDolphin.
• The mailbox then appears in Settings, then Channels, then Email, on the Mailbox tab, with its status, whether it is the default and who on the team has access.
• Add a sender address so replies go out from the address customers wrote to.

Good to know

• Dolphin AI replies to email only when you turn automatic replies on. Until then, your team drafts with Dolphin Reply and the writing assistant.
