What's new

AskDolphin's chat widget can show your catalog in a Products or Services tab, searchable, with images and prices if you want them. You can also switch the tab off. It is one of the tabs of AskDolphin's chat widget.

Why it matters

Many questions start as a browse: "do you have it in a bigger size?", "can you book an airport taxi?". With the catalog inside the widget, customers look and ask in the same window, and a hotel, a salon or an agency can list its services instead of products.

How to use it

Open Settings, then Channels, then Live Chat widget, then Appearance, then Products:

  • Switch on Show Products / Services tab: "When enabled, this tab appears in the widget footer."
  • Under Tab type, choose Products ("Use this if customers should browse items you sell.") or Services ("Use this if customers should browse services you offer.").
  • Under List display, choose whether to show item images and prices.
  • Under Catalog content, choose Manage catalog to change the items.

Customers then see the tab with a search field, such as "Search for a service to get assistance", above the list of items.

Good to know

  • The items come from your AskDolphin Data Sources: the same catalog Dolphin AI and your product QR codes use, synced from Shopify or added by hand.
  • The middle tab is optional: Products, Services or no tab at all.
  • The customizable chat widget is included on Free and Pro.

Frequently asked questions

Can customers browse my products inside the AskDolphin chat?

Yes. The Products or Services tab shows your catalog with search, images and prices, or you can turn it off.

Can the AskDolphin chat widget list services instead of products?

Yes. Set the tab type to Services and customers browse and search the services you offer.
